I went to Sakura Matsuri this past weekend…and made this for myself to wear to the festival. I only wound up spending $10 ($9.87 to be exact) to make it, I’m pretty proud of that to be completely honest. lol.
All you get are mirror pictures…I even cleaned it before taking these pics but it still looks dirty…whyyyyyy
7 hours. Drafted the pattern. Cut out fabric. Digitized the embroidery on the back. Embroidered it. Sewed stuff together. Top stitched everything. Congratulated myself on finishing it.
Yes this was my first attempt at making anything like this.
For anyone who is not familiar with the cost of embroidery software, it’s quite expensive, and in some cases, the quality does not reflect the cost. Some are more costly than others, ranging from several hundred dollars to thousands of dollars. The embroidery software industry is pretty stagnant, and we aim to solve this problem by providing a cost effective quality product, thus forcing others to innovate and provide better software for the industry as a whole.
Hey plushie people with embroidery machines, maybe this is something you’d find useful.
This needs to be funded immediately. I’ve been paying $100 a year for a program that crashes constantly, has no customer support, and that I’ve had to reinstall twice because it says “I’m not authorized to use the program” even though I most definitely am.
I’m funding this because it seems like something that would help quite a lot of people out, including myself. Everyone deserves to be able to embroider what ever they want after they pay hundreds (or even thousands) for an embroidery machine.
Jaycon 5 was awesome!
First con with my Azula Ember Island cosplay. Made 100% by me, from scratch (except for the shoes, I bought the shoes). The belt emblem is embroidered (I digitized the files). I REALLY wanted to put my bangs back, but they kept falling back down…next time I wear this I’ll let them grow out beforehand. Yes. I did pose the same way in ALL PICTURES lol. No, I was not going to do any firebending moves because she was hiding who she was most of the episode out of curiosity for how people would treat her.
ALSO, I had the chance to meet a few fantastic voice actors including Michele Knotz, Richard Epcar, and Ellyn Stern Epcar!
I’ll admit, introducing myself and then hearing Richard Epcar say, “Harley eh? *laugh*” in the Joker’s voice was definitely one of the highlights of my weekend. XD I need a glass case of some kind for my batarang. I will display it like the trophy it is. >_>
Hey, this is patchesonpatches, I made some transparent edits of your patches. I didn't know you had a tumblr and someone has just alerted me to this fact , I didn't mean to steal some of your fame and honestly just hoped it would help you sell more (they all linked back to your etsy), I hope you don't mind too much :(
No worries :)…I appreciate the link back to my Etsy. I don’t have a problem with you posting them, because I don’t think I have them all posted on my blog anyway.
Don’t be cruel with your suggestions lol. If any one of you says Rainbow Dash I will glare at your response. Remember they’re tiny and I’m awesome, but my fingers will hate you if you suggest something with a super complex mane & tail.
